My home on Apartment Therapy

So this morning was fun! I woke up to find my home featured on Apartment Therapy, which in case you are from a galaxy far, far away and haven’t heard of, is a lifestyle blog and publishing company focused on home design and decor.

According to business magazine Forbes, Apartment Therapy is “one of the most influential interior design sites on the Web”.

In other words it is a good place to be seen for interior nerds like me. I have been following this website closely since 2008, I think, but since it’s offices are located overseas in New York (and it is such a large production), it just didn’t occur to me that my home should be featured on it.

Not because I am incredibly thick (really!), but because through my work with making editorial features out of people’s homes, I focus on other people’s homes, and not on promoting my own. There is only so much time around after all.

So this is super fun for me, and if it hadn’t been for Instagram, and the way it has connected me with people from all over the world just by posting some simple images of things I like best, mostly snapped with my iPhone, this never would have happened.

Yes, hail Social Media! #funtimes

I should have removed the media chords and the bits of chewed up sticks form the carpet, yes indeed! If this gets reshot, I most certainly will. But then again, #realhomes is my thang. I’ve seen enough white and “perfect” homes to get me through seven lifetimes though my job as editorial freelancer for interior design magazines.
